ICE Cube List His Favorite Hip Hop Songs

Ice Cube has revealed some of his favorite rap tracks of all time, naming DMX, Nas, and others. He appeared on Capital XTRA to promote the upcoming animated film, Mutant Mayhem, starring himself as SuperFly.

At one point in the interview, he was asked to name his “Mount Rushmore” of rap tracks, and he did not hesitate to do so. “I love Public Enemy’s Rebel Without a Pause, I go crazy over that, and I still love Doug E.

Fresh’s ‘The Show,’” he said, before rapping a few bars from DMX’s “Party Up.” “You’ll make me go crazy, up there, up there,” he added.

In another part of the interview, Cube discussed his role as a villain in the new movie. “It was great to play a villain,” he said, “because there are no rules when you play a villain, so you can just go as crazy as you want.” He added, “Superfly is the King of New York.

Everyone knows his name on the streets of New York. Nothing in New York is without Superfly, or it would be a disaster.”

On the other end of the spectrum, Ice Cube has not been having the greatest week after being accused of being “a sellout” again for agreeing to an interview with Fox News alum Tucker Carlson.

Last month, the rapper toured his former South Central LA home with Carlson, where they discussed a variety of topics, including the presidency of Barack Obama, the rise of Black Lives Matter, and the coronavirus pandemic.

“I don’t believe in politics,” Cube said in response to a question about whether he had ever given money to a political candidate. “There are a lot of politicians out there who have a lot of ulterior motives. The more you give them the more they will listen to you.”

He added that he was “very proud” when President-elect Barack Obama was elected in 2008 because “I never thought America would take that step,” but his elation didn’t last long. “I didn’t think they would, so it was a really special moment, but then you look back and all the years that have gone by and for people that I know and people that I care about, the results are still the same,” said Cube.

Fans reacted angrily to Cube’s interview with Carlson on social media. Cube has not yet responded to the criticism.
